  1. There was once an old woman who kept a Boarding-house in a lane in Kanturk. She had very few lodgers and times were very hard on her as the class of lodgers she was able to keep had become very few.
    One evening in November two men came for lodgings. They were two journeymen tailors who got a job from a local tailor. They told the landlady that they were going to stay for a few months. She was delighted at the prospect of having two regular lodgers who would help her over the Winter months. After staying in the house for a few night the lodgers complained that they felt cold and would need some warmer bedclothes. The old woman went to a local draper's shop and purchased two pairs of Blankets and put a pair on each of the beds which the lodgers slept.
