None of those wooden ploughs are now left. Spades are made in Carlow, Roscrea and in Dublin. Spades were made in our forge, the owner of the forge was James Conway, Muckalee, Ballyfoyle, Co. Kilkenny. It is knocked now and another one was buil at the back of our yard.[Drawing]Spades are bought now in a hardwear shop. The different parts of the spade are the handle head and step. The seed potatoes are kept from year to year. Last year we sorted the potatoes and seperated the good from the bad. Some of the good potatoes are kept for eating and the rest of them are kept for seed. When we are sowing the potatoes all the neighbours turn in and help us.
