    The April sun it was shining,
    Over land over hill and oer sea,
    The Rinarue maid was declining,
    When Davey drove down to Archree.

    Between them no fond word was spoken,
    About "Kings Cow" or "Kate Kelly's hay,"
    But the wheel of the horse-cart is broken
    And it lies on the new road to-day.

    Says "brennan" no greyhound wold buy it,
    Neither "Master McGrath" or "Hurrah",
    The wheel of the Chrystler i'll try it.
    And sent it all out to "Minya".

    And I'll give good sand for a token
    To the Rinarue maid far away.
    But the wheel of the wagon is broken
    And it lies on the new road to-day.
