The other night I saw a sight,
With joy my heart did fill,
    For to see the illuminations,
    Around the "ballast Hill".
    2
The noble youth's around this place,
    Are noble and generous still.
    They celebrated and illuminated,
    The grand old "Ballast Hill."
    3
The stalwart boys the stood in lines,
As the blaze rose more and more,
'Till its brilliant rays did dance and glaze
On the floods of the "Owen Mor".
    4
If our kith and kin on foreign shores
    That other countries fill,
Could see the blaze they'd bless for days
    The dear old Ballast Hill.
