  1. There is a field in Cloonamonagh called in Irish "Poill an Dóibe." It was a dirty "dauby" field and that is the reason it got that name.
    Another place in Knockadalteen was known as the "bearna garbh". It was a long boreen with a high sod ditch on each side of it and a large gap at the end of it.
    Another field in this district is called "an tobar mór". The reason this field got that name is because there is a large well in one corner of it.
