    T'was on a Saturday,
    With Barney int he cart he drove,
    And sat down on the hay.

    He drove a donkey cart,
    And soon met "Thomas Correll",

    Now round the rock came Davey,
    Each house that he passed by,
    He shook as shook the thunder,
    in a troubled Summer sky.

    Oh 'tis says "Private Brennan,"
    Now "Davey" what say you
