    Socks and stockings and other knitted articles are often knitted int his district. The thread used is not spun in the homes. There are no spinning-wheels in the district at the present.
    Special kinds of clothes are worn on different occasions such as black is worn when a relative dies. White is worn at a wedding. Green is worn on St. Patrick's day. Long ago people sometimes wore purple on the death of a friend or wore a black band on their shoulders.
