  1. Aon lá amháin chuaidh trí fir amach i mbád bheag ar an bhfarraige. Bhí táilliúr gobha agus gréasaidhe ann. Nuair a bhí siad i bhfad amuigh ar farraige, d'éirigh an ghaoth go hobann, agus bhí na tonnta móra ag teacht isteach san bhád.
Tháinic eagla an-mor ar na fearaibh, agus ghlaoidh siad amach: "N'íl neart againn air gan a bheith báidhte, muna dtugaidh Dia lámh chugainn agus is fearr dúinn a ghuidhe".
"Oe chá dtuig liom-sa," ars an táilliur. "Monuar rinne mé dearmad ar m'urnaidhtibh."
"Tá mise ar an dóigh chéadna", ars' an gobha.
Annsi thug an gréasaidhe air fein guidhe ar a son uilig, agus dubhairt sé, "A Dhia láidir, chan iarr me dadaidh ort agus chan chuir mé buadhirt ort le seacht mbliadhnaibh anois, agus dá sábháltá an uair so inn bhéarainn mo gheall duit nach gcuirfinn-se buaidhirt ort go ceann seacht mbliadhan eile.
