- Home made toys
Long ago boys and girls made toys in their own homes. Some boys make some of these toys yet.
One of these is, to get a stick and a piece of cardboard and cut the cardboard into the shape of a propeller. Then put a straight pin or a nail through the centre of the cardboard and stick the nail or pin into the end of stick and the toy is made.
When this is held against the wind it turns like the propeller of an aeroplane.
This toy is called a windmill and it is often put on the front of a bicycle and when the bicycle is travelling it turns with the wind.
