- Once upon a time there lived in the Man-of-war a man names Sheridan. Sheridan was a farmer. Every morning when Sheridan used to milk the cows a hare used to lie at the gate. He used to wonder why the cows did not give sufficient milk. Sheridan used to send greyhounds after the hare but they could not kill her. One morning he got a black greyhound and sent it after the hare. The Greyhound followed the hare to a little house. Just as the hare was going to jump in the window the greyhound bit it on the leg. Sheridan went (unto) into the house then and found a little woman in bed with her leg bleeding.
