which means ''The Sparkling well''. This supplied all the people in "Giltraps Lane" and other people aroumd in years gone by and does so still.
In Ballybohan another well is situated. This well is called Bohan's Well because a family named Bohan lived near and they also got their water there. This well supplied all the people of Ballybogan and is the source of Molly Smullen river. It has fallen in and is tramped with cattle and covered with water cress now as there are no houses near it now and consequently no one to take any care of it.
Long ago people worshipped well perhaps there was something in it. Wells have minerals in them necessary for health and if we derive water and health from a well then of course the well is a great blessing from God.
Croghan well is worshipped still by the people of that district.
