29th.11.1938 - The last work or nearly the last in the Autumn is the digging of the potatoes. Nearly all the wise farmers dig out their potatoes in the last week of October, if they did not do so the frost would get to the top ones. The potatoes that are sown early in Spring should be ready for digging out in September.
Potatoes should not be dug out unless they are ripe. Dry weather is best for that purpose.
When potatoes are dug out they should be all put in a pit, and covered well with straw first and then with bog scraws. The(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)- Bailitheoir
