  1. Two brothers (blacksmiths) were rebels and were arrested and hanged on the ash-tree called the Hangman's Tree. There was an iron cross erected on the tree in memory of the two men. It broke and fell and a bit of it got stuck in the butt of the tree. It should be there yet.
