    When the wind is in the north it is a sign of fine weather in Summer and frost in Winter.
    When it is in South and West it is a mark of rain.
    When it is in the East it is a sign of bad weather
    The West wind brings most rain to this district.
    The rainbow in the morning is the shepherd's warning the rainbow at night is the shepherd's delight

    "The wind from the east is neither good for man or beast"
    The wind from the south blows the bait into the fish's
    The wind from the west brings the birds to their nest"

    When the swallow flies low it is a sign of rain and when they fly high it is a sign of good weather.
    When the wild geese flock about this country it is a sign of snow in Scotland.
    When the cat sits with its back to the fire it is a sign of a storm and when it sharpens its claws against a pole it is as sign of rain.
    When a horse stands with its tail to the wind it is a sign of rain.
    When a frog is black it is a sign of rain and when it is yellow it is the sign of good weather.
