  1. Once upon a time a family, named Maguire, loved in the vicinity of Urra. In the house lived a mother, father and one son.
    The son's name was Robert. He was called generally, Bob Maguire This young man was very rich. The family had originally came from America. Near the house, in which Bob lived, another family resided. The latter family were known as O'Meara. In this family there were the parents and two young maids.
    When Maguire was being reared he played with those pretty girls. The three were as happy as the day was long while they played, or sung or danced together.
    The eldest girl, Eily, was small and fat, with red hair. The youngest maiden had golden hair. She was taller and thinner than her sister. When Bob Maguire grew up to be a young man he was very nice looking. Eily fell in love with him, but Bob did not like her so well as Madge.
    When the eldest sister saw that Bob did not want to marry her she was raging. She threatened to kill her sister. She was so jealous that one day she set out with her sister to drive to Lough Ree. Eily had
