  1. On the far side of Kilodiernan lake are the ruins of an old house.
When this house was inhabited people used to frequent it to tell stories. The owner of the house used delight in this. The best story-teller was Mick.
One night when Mick was coming down a hill nearby the house, he got a great fright. He thought he saw the devil who knocked him down with one puck.
Then he saw a lot of young devils, who kicked him while he was on the ground.
When Mick got down to the house he told them what happened.
They all got such a fright, that they ran home. Mick was afraid to go home on that night.
Next morning when Mick was going home up the hill he saw an old goat and a few young kids. Then he knew that he mistook those for the devil and the young devils.
