When he had the hole dug he went in
All this time Jim was watching Tom, and when he did not see him returning he went over to the rock and called Tom. There was not a sign of Tom anywhere.
Jim told the story to the people around. The all believed that a treasure was hidden under the rock. From the day that Tom Brown disappeared under the rock no one tried to get the treasure.
Tradition says that every night at twelve o'clock the little mouse with the candle in his hand is to be seen sitting on the ledge of the rock.
