  1. Old people say that there are a lot of old simple cures which are not used at all by the people nowadays. They also say that certain people have a cure. For instance they say that the seventh son or the seventh daughter has a cure, and that a posthumous child has a cure or a child born on a certain day of the week or of the year.
Most people like to visit "Holy Wells", and "pay rounds" there for to cure any ailment they are infected with. In this district they go to "Tobar Dearg", and they say that a round at that well cures rheumatism, and many other diseases.
Some people say that if a person eats the food left behind by a ferret, it will cure the whooping cough. Other people say that if a person, gets a headache very bad, he may boil the bark of an oak-tree, and they say that, that would cure it.
