- About 60 years ago, the people of this locality grew flax. About a rood of flax was sown by each family each year. After the pulling of the flax the seed was taken off and used as feeding - stuff for calves. the sheaves of flax were steeped in a boghole for some weeks. The were then taken up and the flax was spread out to dry. It was then put on a kitchen loft and left to dry. The man of the house(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
