1. The Manchester Martyrs

   You feeling Christians both male and female, I hope with me you will sympathise,
   And mourn the fate of three Irish heroes who for their country were 'martyrized'.
   'Twas in Manchester, in cursed England, where naught but cruelty was ever found,
   Those three brave heroes they were arrested, and then in confinement were strongly bound.
   Until a perjured jury brought them in guilty, Saying to the judge: "They must surely die,
   For to our sergeant they showed no mercy, for which they'll pay on the gallows tree"
   The judge, being waiting with great impatience to hear the verdict that they would bring,
   For his heart was beating with indignation, against the rights of all Irishmen
   So he addressed them, and spoke as follows, saying: "Come, tell us Allen, what have you to say
   Before death sentence is passed upon you — come, then, declare it without delay".
   He says: "My Lord, I am quite prepared to receive death sentence as it shall be,
   If I'm prepared to meet the Judge of Justice Who awaits your Lordship as well as me.
   Though on the brink of my grave I'm standing,
