  1. There was a man living in Listowel long ago and he was a Protestant. He has a son and he also was a Protestant. He also had a servant girl and she was a Catholic. One Sunday she was going to the Church receiving Communion and the man asked her what kind was it and she told her that he would give her a hundred pounds if she brought it to him in her handkerchief and so she did. When she came home she put it on the table. Then the man took out his penknife and drew it through the Communion. Then a small drop of blood came out and it went up into the air out the door and around the house. The priest heard this and he came to the house and brought the Chalice with him and he started praying over the Chalice until the Communion went into it. When the girl and boy saw this the boy ran out the door and hanged himself and the girl went out of her mind.
