Sheon Burns died in about 1877 and was 60 years or so. He had a home in a place called Burns's wood in the parish of Duagh not far from the borders of Knockanure. He often visited Knockanure when he was being hunted by the Police. He was a man of giant frame, undaunted courage, and horse'e strength.
During his time there were a peace-commissioner and Police in Duagh. On one occassion a Tipperary Policeman was stationed in Duagh. He was a great strong man, and he often mocked the other Policemen, how it was that it took two of them to arrest a man. He said that there was not a man in Limerick nor in Kerry but he would arrest single-handed. The peace commissioner "Galway" came to hear of Burns. He sent for him and Burns came.
