    "The night before the glorious Tidings,
    The Blessed Virgin on her guide
    A long time in the town
    Seeking up and down,
    The Chamber couldn't be found,
    Twas in an asse's manger
    The Queen of Heaven lay.

    It was on Good Friday before noon the Jews
    came up with their spears so sharp,
    And pierced our Saviour through the heart
    Our Blessed lady standing by,
    With a heavy heart and a doleful sigh.
    Saying good Christmas say
    This five times by night or day,
    And you shall never enter hell's fire.
