  1. Tom Mythen Kayle is known locally as a very strong man his height is about six feet eight inches.
He was famous as an axe-wielder and when a tree was wanted to be felled Tom's services were requisitioned. He despised the use of a saw or cross-cut and would never use anything but his axe to fell the largest oak.
He spent many months in Horetown wood cutting and clearing the wood during the War years. He is still alive is about 60 years old but his sight is now impaired and he no longer swings his axe
