A cure for the whooping cough is, give bread to an ass and the crumbs that the ass would let fall the person that would have the cough should eat them. Also he should go out under the asses belly three times, and make the sign of the cross each time. A cure for the tooth ache. Put a spoonful of whiskey on the tooth that is paining and the ache will go away. If you had a sore neck put a wollen stocking around it at night and it will go away. If you had chilblains on your feet it is a good thing to head them to the fire. A dockleaf will take away the sting of a nettle.
