evicted one morning. Some of the young children were carried out on sheets. It was about this time that Parnell and Michal Davitt started the Landleague which resulted in the Landlord selling out the Land. All the Landlords left Ireland and went to live in a foreign country. There is very little heard about them now except on one occasion. A man named Henehan who was a soldier out in India met a Landlord whom he knew here in Ireland. He described the Landlord as a tramp. He said that he had not a hat on his head not a boot on his foot and the rags of clothes he was wearing were flogging him to death. He asked the soldier for a chew of tobacco, which he refused. Reminding him of his hard deeds, when he was a landlord. So he went away cursing Ireland and the people in it.
