One of them gave him a torch so that he could see his way, so he went off and since that he is roaming through the bog with the torch in his hand. He is called Willie the Wisp, because he carries a torch or a wisp in his hand.
- There was not much bread made in this district long ago. It was mostly porridge, potatoes, and oaten bread that the people used to eat. The bread was made from oats and wheat locally. There was not any flour made locally. The oaten bread the people used to eat was made from oaten meal and water and it used to be baked in front of the fire with a support. The support was made of wood and it had three legs. In every house bread was baked every day. It was a mark of a cross that to be cut on(continues on next page)
