    While in the cities of great fame
    Each season of the year.
    The buildings and the monuments
    The same they will appear.
    But when our first Spring's flowers are gone.
    There's others springing still
    Each Summer brings fresh flowers
    To deck old Rathskeagh's hill.

    And when the Autumn's flowering crops.
    Gives all a golden hue.
    While all is dark and dreary shops
    In that city praised by you.
    And Winter brings its joys so bright
    When the snow each crevice fills.
    In some thatched cot we danced all night
    On dear old Rathskeagh Hill.

    Dear friends when ye come visit us.
    Grand sights to you we'll show
    The cave projecting oe'r the bog.
    Four hundred feet below.
    St Bridget's ruins amid the trees
    In a dale the hills within
