  1. My grandmother, Mrs Lennon, told me her mother used to weave and spin. They used to grow their own flax at that time. When the flax is growing, they pull it and put it into a flaxhole for nine days until the "bows" get loose and fall off.
    Then they spread it out to dry, and then scuttle it. Then they bring it into their own houses and put it on rollers.
    There are two sets of rollers, one is across the other, so that the flax will knit.
