  1. There is supposed to be a hidden treasure under a rock in an old fort near Johnstown. People from Ballymore dreamt that there was a treasure in it. They came to see if they would get it. One night as they were starting to dig it, an immense turkey cock flew out at them, and they had to fly for their lives, but the treasure was never dug up. Under the rock in the fort long ago there was a lepracain seen, and when any-one would approach him he would go down under the rock. Several people heard him, and he was always hammering boots.
