  1. There is an old road leading from the Mullingar road at Parcelstown across Laragh Hill, and some distance from Ballynacargy, it joins up with the main road. This old road is not now in use.
    Slighe Asail was the name of this road and was the route followed by the native kings when journeying from Tara to the residence of Queen Maeve at Rathcroghan. This was a very busy road at this time as it was one of the five roads of Ireland.
