  1. Swallows are wild birds that emigrate to warmer climates in Winter. When they return in early summer they build their nests in old stables and sheds and in outhouses. The birds lay their eggs in old nests that are freshly lined. There are six eggs of a brownish colour in the nest. After a fortnight the young birds appear.
    The cuckoo lays her egg in another birds nest and the young cuckoo is very greedy and pushes all the other young birds out of the nest as he grows bigger.
