  1. We have no cow now, but about four years ago we had one. She was black and white. The place she used to be kept in at night was called the byer. It was never necessary to tie her as she was a very quiet cow. Her name was Blackie. When my father used to be driving her out to the field he used to say "How up, How up".
    When we got her first we had to put a pucóg on her made from a sack or an old bucket as she was a rogue. When a person is calling calves he says suck suck suck.
