  1. There is a road, running at one side of our house in Sonna, Slanemore, It is going through a field. It used to be a public road long ago. It is called the valley of the black pig.
It was prophesied that a Spaniard leading an Irish army, would march all the way through the valley of the black pig. When they would arrive at Cavan they would fight the orange men and it is said that the Irish would win.
