  1. There is another old tradition about people named Melia who had three pigs grazing around an old cushlán just at the back of their residence and at the main entrance to the old monastic ruins of Tristernagh. In the evening when they went to look for their swine only two of them returned.
    After about an hours looking they found the third, rooting and tearing up the ground they went to hunt him but he would not go. After a while they saw a big book being unearthed by the pig which gave them great surprise.
