   The people had three meals a day in olden times. These meals were breakfast, dinner and tea. The breakfast consisted of porridge and buttermilk. At noon the old people had dinner. It consisted of potatoes and buttermilk. Sometimes red herrings were eaten. Buttermilk was commonly used at every meal.
   The table was placed near the wall at meal times. The bread was made from wheaten
