There was a Protestant school long ago at a place called Halls cross. This school was situated beside a field. This field is called the school-house field ever since the school was there. There were no Catholics allowed to attend this school. The name of the teacher who tought in this school was Stephen Smyth. - My Grandmother's house was a school house long ago. It was a Protestant school and Protestants only attended it. The field at the back of it is called the "School House Field". This field was attached to the school.
The classes were held upstairs. The teachers' apartments were dowstairs. There was a seperate entrance for the pupils.
