   The swallow gives very good signs of the weather. When you see him flying up in the air you can be sure of a fine spell of good weather. When you see him flying low you can be sure of a fine spell of wet weather. The robin also gives signs of the weather. When you see him hopping in front of the door you could be sure of a fall of snow. When the weather is going to clear up for hay about the end of June the corn-crake is noted for its chirping. The lark flys very high into the sky and when you see him flying low it is a sign of rain. The blackbird also flys very high and when you see him flying low it is a sign of frost.The cuckoo comes back to this country also in summer time and when you hear him bawling it is a sign that the weather is going to clear up. Sheep and goats also give signs of the weather. When you see them high on the hills you can be sure of a fine spell. When a storm is coming they are the first to know it. They come down from the hills then. If you see cows on a sunny day lying down it is a sure sign of rain. If you see a horse lying down on a high bank it is a sure sign of rain. If you see a cat sleeping with back turned to the fire it is a sure sign of rain. If you hear a dog barking and roaring it is a sign of fine
