- The old people say that if the sky is red in the evening it is a sign of fine weather. If the sky is red in the east it is the sign of bad weather. If there is a rainbow in the sky it is the sign of rain. At sunset when the sun is pale it is the sign of bad weather. If the sun sets red it is the sign of good weather. If the sun goes behind a cloud it is the sign of bad weather, also. It is the sign of rain when the sky is dark. If there are rays from the sun it is the sign of bad weather. If there is a circle round the moon it is the sign of bad weather. If the moon is clear it is the sign of good weather. When the stars are twinkling in the sky it is the sign of frost. When the clouds are dark it is the sign of rain. When there is a rainbow in the sky it is the sign of good weather. A rainbow in the morning is a sign of good weather and a rainbow in the evening is a sign of bad weather.
