    old woman in Clare. Her name was Biddie Early and when the man came home himself and his son went to dig for the gold. When they came to the stone under which the gold was a big dog came up. They went home and never came near it again.

  2. At the foot of Cullaun, townland of Minacrea, parish of Kilcommon, Co. Limerick, there is supposed to be hidden underneath the surface of the earth a considerable amount of gold. It is not known who placed it there, but people say it is certainly there. A long time ago a woman dreamt that if a certain number of men of the same name went there at night and dug down in the ground inside the circle of earth which surrounds it they would come across a large flag and under this flag the gold would be found. The first man to discover the gold was to die, and some people were afraid to go near it. One night six men of the same name went to the hill and with picks and shovels dug a large hole there. When they reached a certain distance they came across small stones and
