  1. Long ago people had cures for every ailment. When people had soar throats they would put a stocking around their neck. When people had warts on their hands they would rub the Dandelion flower to them. There is a holy well in Ballintubber and every child who get the whooping cough are taken to it and are cured. There is a holy well about a half a mile away from Kilfinane. It is called Saint Malua's. When people have a pain in their back a poultice of linseed meal is put to it. Christmas day is thought to be a lucky day to be born on.
