    It was baked in a quarter of an hour as the iron soon got very hot.
    Every Monday the bread was baked in the morning enough for the whole week.
    Barm bread was made from flour and water and potatoes and salt.
    All the ingredients were mixed and covered and put by the fire for 24 hours.
    Then they were mixed again and dried with flour and baked.
    Indian meal bread was made from flour and milk and meal kneaded and baked.
    The oat meal bread was made from flour and milk and oatmeal kneaded and baked on a griddle.
    There were big sweet cakes made for Christmas of currants and sugar and lard or butter and flour, as there were no barm-bracks made.
    Two suppers were ate on Christmas night long ago, the first was eaten in the evening about six o'clock and it consisted of potatoes and fish and white sauce made from flour.
    The other was eaten about ten o'clock before going to bed.
    This consisted of tea and the currant cakes and butter.
