   child has a piece of rope and turns it over her head. As it touches their feet they jump and they continue the same thing until they miss. When skipping they say "Early in the morning at six o'clock you can hear the postman's knock postman postman drop your letter, lady lady pick it up." As they come to the words "Postman postman drop your letter" they drop a pebble and that the words "lady lady pick it up" they pick up the pebble and skip at the same time. For swinging they tie a piece of rope to a tree - each end a little distance apart. One child sits on it and the other pushes it to and fro.
