  1. Long ago there lived a farmer in the Co. Kilkenny. He had a fine farm of ground and was married and settled down and had five children. He was very hard-working and industrious but he had one failing he was fond of a "little drop". When work was over he generally made his way to the local public-house where he spent a few hours. However he seldom or ever got drunk but confined himself to a few pints of beer.
    This night having met a few friends he hand more drink taken than usual when he started for home. On his way he had to pass by an old fort which was situated a short distance in from the road. When he came near the fort he heard the sweetest music ever and on looking towards where the music came from he saw the whole fort in a blaze of light. Becoming curious he approached the fort & there he saw a big dance was being held by the
