  1. There was once a fort in Cartron. It was surrounded by thick bushes with a cave in the centre.
Often when the men were out late at night minding ewes and lambs from the foxes and dogs they used to hear a lot of music and strange noises in the fort.
One night very late a man was passing near the fort. He saw a light near the fort and several little men with red caps and coats dancing round the fort to lovely music. The man was telling some of the neighbours what he saw and they said it was the good people having a fairy dance.
