- 1. We sow about one rood of potatoes every year. Some years we have better return than other years according to the way they are cased.
2. The ground is manured and ploughed at first. It is then drilled and the seed potatoes are put down about a foot apart.
3. The people around here generally help each other. If any person had only one horse he would get a horse from someone else. When his crop is sown he sends home the horse he got and his own horse along with him.
4. When they are well up over the ground they are sprayed, sometimes people get a machine to people spray them. If this is done it will prevent blight.
5. People generally sow the potatoes around here the first or second week in April. Some people say that potatoes sown lots in April thrive better than those sown early(continues on next page)- Collector
