  1. 1. There are not many roads around this locality. There is a road running to Portumna which is called a public road. There is a road running to Conicare from this, and from that to Tynagh. It is called a bye road. The word Conicare means a short cut.
    2. There is a road running to Barnaboy. This road would bring you to Woodford. It is called a public road.
    3. Long ago before the bridge was made the people used to have to put planks across the river and they used to have to put wire also to go across.
    4. There is a road going from Abbey to Coolfin. It is called a bye road. It is said that there is a road going under the ground from Lady well to the grave yard.
