    1. It is said that it is never right to start a grave on Monday. Here in Abbey churchyeard they generally dig a few sods on Sunday.
    2. Wednesday is lucky for getting married so people get married on Wednesday.
    3. People say that Friday is lucky for everything. When people are changing into a new house they generall change on a Friday.
    4. It is said that anything you start on Saturday ou woul never finish it.
    5. It is late for sowing parsnips after st. Patricks day. A crop is usually sown after the stage of the moon.
    6. Onions are sown the shortest day and on Good Friday. It is also unlucky to work a horse on Whit Monday. It is unlucky to bring a cat with you into a new house.
