  1. 1. There was a man named Joyant going home from a wake in Abbey one night. As he was going along the road about fifty yards from this school he heard something crying behind him.
    2. He looked back and saw a little white woman walking around a bush and he watched her for half an hour as she walked around the bush. He was very frightened.
    3. He said afterwards that it was the bann-shee. It is said that the bann-shee cries for some families when a member of that family is dead.
