    The houses the people had long ago were very different to the houses they have now. The houses they had were made of mud and timber. The roofs were made of scraws covered with straw. The chimneys were only a few rows of rods woven in and out in each other. Then there were a few bricks placed on top of the rods.
    The people also had a different method of locking the door. The had what is called a
